Heaping praises on the 30th edition of the National Heritage and Culture Festival, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa remarked that it had become a key event that embodies the authentic Islamic heritage.
“It has become a civilisational tradition, and an Arab and human platform that brings together an elite of writers, intellectuals and researchers from all over the world,” HM the King said in a statement in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia yesterday.
HM the King participated in the opening ceremony of festival at the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. An annual event, organised by the National Guard Ministry in Al Janadriyah region, the festival was patronised by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al
Saud.
HM the King was received at the venue by the Saudi King and Prince Mutaib bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of National Guard also President of the festival’s Supreme
Committee.
The two leaders exchanged cordial talks and tackled the solid historical relations bonding the two Kingdoms while enjoying watching the camel racings. At the end of the race, the Saudi King awarded the top five finishers.
In his statement, HM the King commented that Al Janadriyah Festival is a model to be emulated at the GCC and Arab levels.
Pointing out that the festival has a special status, HM the King said the Saudi King’s positive and constructive role towards Bahrain and the Arab and Islamic nations were highly appreciated.
On the occasion, HM King Hamad commended the progress boom witnessed by Saudi Arabia in all fields during the era of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
HM the King also lauded King Salman’s commendable efforts to consolidate Arab and Islamic solidarity through supporting legitimacy backed by UN resolutions.
Earlier, on arrival at the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, HM King Hamad was welcomed by Riyadh Governor Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Bahraini Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Shaikh Hmood bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and a number of senior officials.
HM King returns to Bahrain
After attending the Al Janadriyah Festival, HM the King returned to Bahrain yesterday. HM the King was seen off by Riyadh Province Governor Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Bahrain Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Shaikh Hmood bin Abdulla Al Khalifa. Later, HM the King sent a thanksgiving message to the Saudi King for the warm welcome accorded to him.
