Nasser 8 preparations continuing

Preparations are continuing for the first Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games (Nasser8) under the patronage of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.
It gets underway at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town on Thursday, with football matches in the first group that includes defending champion Victorious, Fast Link, Majestic Car Showroom and Al Wehda.
The following three days then sees two matches a day in the other three groups at 7.15pm and 8.30pm, starting on Friday with Al Zilzal meeting Al Fakhar, while Ahlam Batelco play Al Zaeem, on Saturday Al Maseef take on Al Ameed and Forever play Nomas, while on Sunday Al Nawayef face Gunners United, followed by Cobra and United Youth.
Following the lead of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Forever team returns to the competition with a new lineup of players. The team has been undergoing extensive training under the supervision of National Coach Salah Habib, with a new formation that includes 80% of new players, as directed by Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to structure a youth-based team to participate.
Forever Deputy Manager Mahmood Ismail said the team had contracted two professional players and confirmed the team will spare no effort in competing for the title and is a perfect opportunity to discover new young football talents.
Al Ameed Team Manager Mahmood Al Nuaimi said players’ preparations are smoothly continuing, following coach Marzooq Al Jaleel, who is focusing on improving players’ physic, fitness and technical levels.
Al Nuaimi looked to achieve good results in the championship and is currently taking part in the Shura and Representatives Councils football tournament, which comes within the team’s preparation for Nasser8. The team recently completed four contracts with two Arab professional footballers and two residents.
Organisers said that final preparations to hold the championship are completed and it will be covered by TV, press and social media.
