Drug peddling: Brothers jailed
Two brothers accused of peddling drugs have been jailed. They were sentenced to five year imprisonment and received a fine of BD3000 each, according to High Criminal Court statement.
Aged 27 and 29, the defendants have been arrested after a police tip-off. One of them was lured into selling BD220 worth of shabu to an undercover agent, and police officers later tracked him until he reached his home. Anti-drug squads later carried out a raid on the house, but the two brothers showed resistance, according to court files. They were said to have also attacked police officers, causing injuries to two cops. The defendants, however, were eventually arrested and also failed a drug test. Prosecutors charged them with possessing unlawful drugs and attacking police officers.
