Stage set for Endurance race
Preparations are in the final stages for tomorrow’s HM the King’s Endurance Ride Championship at the Endurance Village in Sakhir, organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF).
Two races are set and feature a 120km distance for seniors and 80km for junior riders.
The races will feature many local riders from stables all over Bahrain along with riders from the UAE including HH Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, who has been welcomed for his participation by HM the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Affairs, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and Honorary President of BREEF, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Nasser noted that the race will be of a high standard technically and excellent preparation for future events.
Meanwhile, BREEF President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa held a meeting with the Board of Directors for an update on the preparations and toured the village to see the progress of work.
The 120km race course will be in four stages over distances of 40-20-30 and 20km and the 80km is over three stages of 30-30 and 20km.
A veterinary examination of the horses is set to take place today at 3pm.
