Education of five daughters of dead Pakistani man assured

Manama

Daughters of the Pakistani driver, who was killed in a road accident a few days ago, will continue their schooling, revealed Community Welfare Counsellor at Pakistan Embassy Maqsood Qadir Shah yesterday.

The deceased Akram is survived by five daughters, all school students. After his tragic death, his widow, a housewife, was not in a position to continue their education. When the matter came to the notice of Shah, he assured the education of the girls.

Speaking to DT News, Shah said that since Akram was not properly insured, his wife and daughters were not going to get any financial benefit. “Taking into account their situation, the embassy with the help of community would bear all the expenses for the education of his daughters.”

Afzal, the brother of deceased Akram, said that Maqsood Qadir Shah helped them a lot and bore all the expenses for the transportation of the body to their native village in Pakistan. The official also gave a handsome amount in cash to his elder brother Ashraf, who escorted the dead body to Pakistan.

He said that they all were very thankful to Maqsood Qadir Shah for this cooperation and help.

According to Afzal, Shah had informed them that the embassy would deposit certain amount in Akram’s wife’s account every month.

Akram’s body was flown back home yesterday afternoon by the Gulf Air. It almost cost more than BD 1,000 for the transportation charges of the body.

Rashid and Imtiaz, who sustained grievous injuries in the accident in which Akram lost his life, have been discharged from the BDF Hospital.

Akram is hailing from Tajowal, a small village in Tehsil Shakargarh, District Narowal of Punjab in  Pakistan.
