Two jailed for spreading rumour over Bahrain military operations
Manama : The High Criminal Court yesterday sentenced two suspects to five-years in prison, Northern Governorate Chief Prosecutor Mohammed Salah announced.
The two defendants had been charged with disseminating false news regarding the ongoing military operations carried out by the Armed Forces. Evidence presented to the court included posts on the suspects’ social media accounts, which carried highly defamatory statements against the servicemen who have died while participating in coalition military operations in Yemen. The defendants have the right to appeal the ruling.
