Man gets life imprisonment for smuggling drugs
A court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for attempting to smuggle drugs. The defendant was arrested at the King Fahad Causeway (the Bahraini side) for hiding hashish in his car’s engine.
“I saw him in abnormal condition, and I asked him if there was any illegal items in his possession. He answered no,” the officer who arrested him told the prosecutors.
“He was nervous. I inspected him but I didn’t find anything illegal in his possession. Then we moved into his car and we inspected it. We found two pieces of hashish, weighing around 400 grams each,” he added.
The defendant has also failed a drug test, as traces of hashish were found in his saliva.
