BOC to celebrate 15th Anniversary of NAC

Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) is set to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the National Action Charter (NAC) today under the theme “Our charter… is our future” and will be patronised by Supreme Council for Youth and Sports member, BOC member and Bahrain Table Tennis Association president Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa and commencing at 9am.

It is organised in cooperation with the Gulf University and is part of the committee plan to promote community partnership with national institutions and organisations and in compliance with the agreement signed between the two parties.

There will be two sessions marking the occasion with the morning session to take place at Isa Town Sports City in Riffa, while the evening session will be held at the Gulf University premises in Sanad.

A walkathon will kick off today’s programme near the National Stadium, where a variety of other competitions such as football, athletics, badminton, table tennis, short-distance races and physical fitness are also  lined-up.

The second session of activities will begin at 7.30pm at the Gulf University with the opening remarks by a BOC spokesman and followed by another speech by the Gulf University representative.

A music show performed by the military band, to be followed by a special gesture by the university to honour members of the national handball team on reaching the 2017 World Championship in France followed by an awarding ceremony to honour the winners of all competitions.

The BOC is also setting up an exhibition to reveal its own activities.
