SYMS Work of Mercy Award goes to PU Thomas
Manama : Founder and Managing trustee of Navjeevan Trust, P. U Thomas, has been selected for this year’s Work of Mercy Award for humanitarian and philanthropic services to mankind.
This was announced by Syro Malabar Society (SYMS) President Francis Kaitharath and General Secretary Biju Joseph at press conference here yesterday.
Providing shelter and relief to the desolate and mentally and physically challenged people and working for their rehabilitation are the services rendered by Thomas.
“This year, along with Work of Mercy Award ceremony, SYMS Crystal Jubilee Goodwin Hall would also be inaugurated,” the organisers said.
Bahrain Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) Secretary General Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed will be the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony and the award ceremony, which would be held on February 25 at 8pm on SYMS premises.
The Annual magazine “Reflection” would also be released during the inaugural function in the presence of Francis Kaitharath and distinguished social leaders.
Rev Dr. Davis Chirammel, Chairman Kidney Federation of India, Murugan S Theruvaram, founder of Theruvaram N G O, Lt General (Retd) Shaikh Duaij Khalifa Bin Duaij Al Khalifa, President Bahrain Disabled Society are the previous recipients of SYMS Work of Mercy Award.
SYMS executive committee welcomed all to participate in the function.
