Woman gets 1-yr prison for hiding fugitive
Manama : The High Criminal Court has sentenced a woman accused of hiding a fugitive to one year behind the bars.
The fugitive was said to have ran away from police custody, and the woman, aged 42, provided a safe shelter to him.
Investigations have revealed that the fugitive was hiding in the defendant’s home
in Sanabis and a team of
police officers raided the residence.
During interrogations, the woman’s husband disclosed that his wife said she was sheltering him because the police were pursuing him.
According to the court documents, the fugitive was charged in connection for attempting to murder two police officers, an accusation that could land him a death sentence or life imprisonment.
