Motorbike robbery: 16-year-old gets jail

ManamaA teenager accused of robbing a motorbike has been sentenced to three years behind bars. The 16-year-old boy is suspected of stealing a delivery motorcycle belonging to a local newspaper.

The rider of the motorbike claimed that three men disembarked from a car in front of him while he was on duty. According to his statement before the Public Prosecution, two of them were wearing face masks, and all the three were holding knives.

One of them was eventually captured after police saw a child roaming around Hamad Town on the stolen bike.

He was taken to police station and it was revealed that the bike had been brought to home by his brother (the 16-year-old boy). The teen was arrested later and charged with robbery.

“I was with my friends driving around Bahrain. We saw the motorcycle and one of them said let’s rob it,” the 16-year-old said during interrogation. The other two people, who are involved in the robbery, however, are still at large.
