Bahraini MP to participate in Global Woman Forum Dubai

ManamaMP Roua Al Hayki, who will represent the Kingdom at the Global Women’s Forum Dubai today, said the Bahraini women had played a key role in the sustainable development of the country.

The two-day forum, organised by Dubai Women Establishment and Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society, will be held at Madinat Jumeirah Hotel in Dubai from February 23 to 24.

The Women’s Forum, which is the first-of-its-kind in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, will showcase the characteristics that make Dubai and the UAE one of the world’s fastest developing regions in terms of innovation, education and governance.

Al Hayki, who is the Chairperson of Woman and Child Committee in Parliament, added that she would share the experiences of Bahraini women through the forum.

About her participation, the MP said it was highly important to take part in such forums, as they are the means to create a strong network with leaders from around the world.

The lawmaker added that the focus of the forum would be on the sustainable role of women in today’s world.

“And because we live in a fast-moving and changing world it is very important to realise what and how women can contribute to it,” the MP said.

“It is important to discuss different ways to enhance the sustainable role of women and their contribution to the study of the economy and how it can inspire future generations of women to participate actively and effectively in order to build a brighter future,” she added.

Over 2,000 participants and 200 speakers are expected to take part in the event besides international delegates. It will bring together leaders from around the world, both women and men representing business, government, academia as well as art and culture.
