Murder case adjourned

ManamaWitnesses in the case of a young Bahraini accused of murdering his neighbour are yet to be arrested in order to appear before the High Criminal Court to give evidence.

The witnesses were supposed to appear at the court yesterday after they failed to attend two previous hearings. However, they did not show up, prompting judges at the High Criminal Court to adjourn the case until March 10.

The 20-year-old defendant deliberately crashed his car into the victim who was riding a bike, according to the court documents.

The latter, aged in his forties, was declared dead on the spot. The defendant fled the scene but surrendered to the police later.

The duo was said to be carrying bad blood against each other as the defendant used to drift his car in the village of Demistan where the two of them were residing.

The victim reportedly tried to advise the defendant on several occasions not to do it before taking the issue to his family.

However, the irate young Bahraini allegedly rammed his car into the victim after spotting him on his bike, causing fatal wounds to him.

Though he initially told the police that he accidentally collided with the victim’s vehicle, he later confessed that it was a deliberate incident.
