Bahrain King hails media

ManamaHis Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa said that the role played by the national media to highlight the Kingdom’s milestone achievements in various fields was remarkable.

Appreciating various media outlets, HM King Hamad lauded the “pioneering role of the Bahraini media and its national message in supporting the national reform and modernisation process.”

HM the King was speaking in a meeting with Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Personal Representative and Chairman of the High Authority for Information and Communication HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the Minister of Information and Parliament Affairs Isa bin Abdulrahman Al Hammadi here yesterday. Editors-in-chief of local newspapers and the Ministry’s staff were also present.

In his address, HM the King said, “We affirm the magnitude of the responsibility entrusted to the media, especially at a time we are facing threats to the security of the Arabian Gulf region.” 

“This recurrent interference will only stimulate our steadfast resolve to push forward the union path among our brotherly countries. It’s an option that reinforces our unity and fulfils the aspirations of our unified people,” HM King Hamad noted. “We also value highly the endeavours of the Information Affairs Ministry’s affiliates, who leave no stone unturned to project the image of Bahrain under all circumstances,” HM the King said, thanking the media staff for their efforts to cover the recent national occasions celebrated by the Kingdom-- the National Day, the Accession Day, the Commemoration Day, the Bahrain Defence Force Day, the Anniversary of the National Action Charter and Bahraini Women’s Day.

“We confirm for everyone our interest and follow up what is raised in the mass media,” HM the King added, highlighting the importance of constructive criticism in ensuring the continuity of the reform march.
