Leaders’ support to media recalled
Manama : Minister of Information and Parliament Affairs Isa bin Abdulrahman Al Hammadi said that the advanced status enjoyed by Bahraini media was the fruitful outcome of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s support and the constant interest of Bahraini leaders, who, throughout history, appreciated the role of the media.
“We recall with pride those visions passed by the successive generation. We established the general framework for disciplined freedom and responsible development,” he said, citing the directives of the late HM Shaikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa who said while inaugurating the Bahrain Wireless Radio in 1940 that the radio would bolster Bahrain’s relations with its Arab neighbours.
The Minister also recalled the directives issued by the late HM Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa while opening Bahrain Radio in 1955, who said that the Radio would carry Bahrain’s words to the Arab and Islamic worlds and preserve its religious and intellectual ties with them.
“History will also preserve the late Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa’s valuable visions to develop the media in Bahrain and call for the media personnel to clarify the facts,” Al Hammadi added.
The Minister asserted that the leadership’s historic visions and directives would remain a source of inspiration for the media personnel in Bahrain.
Al Hammadi also thanked HM the King for his appreciation for the Bahraini media.
