Double postmortem for Bahrain expat’s body

Manama: A Bahrain expat’s dead body, which was sent to India, was subjected to postmortem again yesterday as the relatives expressed doubt about the cause of death. Manel Vayal Kuni Dineshan(46) apparently died in suspicious circumstances on a few days ago in a hotel in Manama. The body, which was sent to India via Qatar Airways to Calicut, Kerala was subject to postmortem at government hospital and then was taken to his hometown for burial yesterday morning. The relatives in India told DT News that they had filed a complaint to the Non Resident Keralites Affairs (NORKA) with the help of Indian MP M K Raghavan.

Dineshan was working as an office boy in a private law firm in Bahrain. Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) website shows his occupation as ‘cleaner’. His dead body was cremated in his hometown Tikkodi, a small village in the Kozhikode district of the Indian state of Kerala. According to the people who washed the dead body at Bahrain's Salmaniya Medical Complex, there were wounds and fracture on his head. It is said that a scuffle resulted in injury. He is survived by his wife Shyni and children Mithara and Nakshathra back home. His brother Satheesan is an ex Bahrain resident who worked in Salmabad. Dineshan was leading an expat life in Bahrain for the past 14 years. Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) volunteer Subair Kannur helped to repatriate the dead body to India. DT News is awaiting a comment from the Interior Ministry on the matter.
