Isa Award winner to build educational campuses

Educational campuses for the poor in India will carry the name of the late Amir HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, it was recently announced.
During his honouring ceremony, held by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Wednesday, the Isa Award for Humanity laureate Professor Achyuta Samanta Kalinga pledged to allocate the USD1 million award to expand and construct more campuses to accommodate children under the line of poverty in India.
Prof. Samanta announced that the new premises will be named after the late Amir HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, in appreciation of the generous and humanitarian award, adding that he is currently planning to expand the project to reach more countries that are affected by poverty in the region, such as Bangladesh.
He extended sincere thanks and appreciation to the great people of Bahrain for the efforts exerted to eradicate poverty and support marginalised communities. He also added that the Award would be a catalyst for him to carry on his humanitarian work in serving humanity, dedicated the Award to all poor and destitute children all over the world.
The ceremony, which was held at Isa Cultural Centre in Jufair, was attended by Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, ministers, diplomats and other dignitaries.
