Witness fined for absence
The High Criminal Court fined a witness BD50 for not appearing in the courtroom to testify in a drug case, in which three persons are implicated. The trio, including a man, his wife and another man allegedly smuggled drugs with the help of a Pakistani national living in his homeland.
The Pakistani national, according to court files, was sending auto spare parts to the defendants, and the drugs were hidden inside them. The trio are facing up to 15 years in prison if found guilty.
