Suspended Shura Council session to be held today
Manama: Shura Council members will attend a weekly session today, as it was suspended by the Council’s Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh last week.
The Chairman last Sunday suspended the Council’s weekly meet claiming “not enough subjects to discuss were referred by the Council of Representatives.”
This “indirect accusation” of laziness on MPs was highly criticised during the parliament’s weekly session on Tuesday.
MPs like Adil Al Assoomy and Khalid Al Shaer slammed the suspension decision and demanded that the Parliament Chairman Ahmed Al Mulla should “take immediate action against this mockery.”
The MPs claimed “Shura Council members have been delaying key law proposals submitted to them by the parliament.” However, Al Mulla stressed recently that the Council has no issues with Shura Council. “Positive cooperation between them is needed to serve the homeland and its people,” he added.
