Housing Ministry’s mobile app unveiled

Manama : Want to know the latest updates or anything regarding housing units? Then save your travel to the Ministry, its all now available at your fingertips.

With the support of eGovernment Authority, Housing Minister Basim Alhamer has announced the launch of a Housing Ministry application for smartphones to easily and effectively serve the citizens.

The beta version of the application has been released on Android platform and citizens can download it from Google Playstore. In the next stage, the application will be released in the other operating systems.

The application will allow citizens to view news from the Housing Ministry and take advantage of its e-services.

Alhamer pointed out that the application provides e-services related to new housing units such as houses, apartments and temporary apartments, besides services related to applying for funding of all kinds like procurement, construction and repair. The services also include updating of contact information and bank accounts details, besides correcting house demands data. The citizens will also be able view information through the status service.

The new mobile application also offers a free instant Live Chat feature, which opens a direct channel between the concerned ministry and the citizen.

The Minister explained that the e-services are linked and integrated with many organisations and various government agency databases, which will provide real time and accurate data on an ongoing basis.

He added that citizens won’t need to visit the Ministry’s office for inquiry, which in turn decreases the workload of the Ministry’s customer service department. It will also decrease the time needed for transactions as the ministry receives about 114,000 inquiry requests annually, he said.

With this, the Ministry has completed the comprehensive electronic system plan initiated by it four years ago, with the cooperation of the Interior Ministry and eGovernment.
