The Water Garden City gets its first hospitality project - Residence Inn by Marriott

American hospitality company Marriott International Inc entered into an agreement with International Trading And Investment Company to operate the $30mn apartment tower under the ‘Residence Inn by Marriott’ brand, making it the first hospitality project in Water Garden City.

The agreement was signed at the Financial Harbour headquarters of Albilad Real Estate Investment Company, the master developer of the Water Garden City project in Seef district.

Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chairman of International Trading And Investment Company, and Marriott International (Middle East and Africa) MD Alex Kyriakidis signed the agreement in the presence of Albilad Real Estate Investment Company GM Ziyad Abdullatif Janahi.

Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, stressed that the hospitality and tourism sector in Bahrain is an attractive investment opportunity due to its solid foundation and the good reputation of the Kingdom in the field of family tourism.

He also praised the partnership between International Trading And Investment Company and Marriott International.

Marriott’s Kyriakidis said “We have visited the site of the Water Garden City project” and that he believes that new project “will do very well in this location.”  He noted that the project site was “exceptional” and stressed that the Marriott group looks forward to seeing it develop.
