Grand conclusion to BIGS

Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and support of Wife of HM the King,  President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) and President of the Consultative Council of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Bahrain International Garden Show (BIGS) 2016 has concluded.

The best pavilions were honoured to promote the quality of the displays and offer the best to the visitors.

Greenview Landscaping won the first place at the commercial displays’ pavilion, Alia Flowers came second and Al Rabiya Al Khadra’ Nursery was third.

At the design pavilion, Kingdom Projects came first, Royal Court came second and Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) was named third.

University of Bahrain (UoB) won the first place at the awareness pavilion, followed by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning.

BIGS 2016 is considered as one of the largest exhibitions, with visitors’ turnout surpassing 35,000 and a total of 161 exhibitors.

NIAD, the organiser of BIGS, was able to attract a large number of visitors from Bahrain and other countries who were interested in agricultural affairs, through the scientific pavilion.

Results of an electronic questionnaire carried out by NIAD highlighted BIGS’ organisation and the level of the displayed scientific material.

NIAD was able to achieve its main objective, which was the dissemination of the agricultural culture among the youth by attracting large numbers of schools, colleges and universities students and those interested in the agricultural affairs.
