IFTDO World Conference from March 21

The IFTDO World Conference contemplate on one important question: How the world leaders managed their crisis periods and how can Bahrain benefit from their experiences to come out of the current economic crisis, said President of Bahrain Society for Training and Development (BSTD) Mohammed Mahmoud Al Shaikh.

He was speaking to DT News on the sidelines of a press conference held to announce the details of the 45th International Federation of Training and Development Organizations (IFTDO) Conference and Exhibition.

The event will be held from March 21 to 23 at Crowne Plaza Hotel here in Bahrain.

The three-day conference will be held under the patronage of Prime Minister  HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, in which 15 keynote speakers including Energy Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza and Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani will deliver their speeches.

The event will be organised by BSTD with Tamkeen as the  strategic partner. Over 600 people and 22 exhibitors from around the world are expected to take part in the
event.

Adviser to Chief Executive of Tamkeen, Mohammed Ali Bucheeri, and CEO Origin Group, Ahmed Al Banna, also spoke on the occasion.

BSTD president said the theme of the conference is “Lessons from leaders” and they wanted the visiting leaders to tell them the secret of coming out of a crisis.

Ali Bucheeri said the main objective of Tamkeen is to make Bahrainis ready for the private sector. “We want Bahrainis to be the obvious choice for the employers and so, training for employment is our core objective.”

Four important workshops will be held prior to the official opening of the conference and about 1000 participants are expected to take part in it.
