Speedy welcomes young fans

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) staff welcomed a group of students from St Christopher’s Junior School to Sakhir facility led by the circuit’s beloved mascot Speedy. They were taken on a tour of the world-class venue, including trips to the iconic Sakhir Tower, the Race Control Tower and the Media Centre.

The students were also brought out onto the track where they experienced first-hand a little of what it is like for some of the world’s best racers in series such as the FIA Formula 1 World Championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship. Speedy also was involved in lots of photographs with the youngsters and interacted with them in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

At the end of their visit, each of the students were given goodie bags, which included gifts and promotional material for the 2016 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

The trip was part of BIC’s promotional activities leading up to the highly anticipated Formula 1 weekend, which is set to take place between April 1 and 3 in Sakhir.

Tickets to the Bahrain Grand Prix continue to be available for the five Grandstands with children aged three to 12 years old available for half price and entry free of charge for those below three years old.
