IN MEMORY OF ATTA SHAD

Venue: Baloch Club Hall 2nd Floor Hoora

Baloch Club’s Literature Committee (Balad) is organising an event in memory of Atta Shad, a renowned Baloch Poet. The event will take place today 2016 at 6pm. Four international poets and writers will join the programme online.

Muneer Momin from Pasni, Dr. Hanif Shareef from Germany, Prof. A.R Dad from Quetta, Taj Baloch from Sweden will be joining online, whereas poets Faqeer Shaad and Majeed Ajiz from Bahrain will also be participating in the event.

Atta Shad was a poet, critic, playwright, researcher and intellectual. He wrote poems in Urdu and later in Balochi language. Shad is considered the architect of modernsymbolic Balochi poetry. Shad started his Urdu poetry under the tutelage of Faiz Ahmad Faiz but soon felt the need to evolve his own style. His unique style gave him a prominent place in the literary quarters .
