ICT key pillar of development: Crown Prince
Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa said advancing the information and communications technology (ICT) sector was a key pillar of Bahrain’s sustainable development plan.
“This principle has guided Bahrain’s pioneering role in developing telecommunications in the region over the past decade,” Prince Salman noted during his meeting with the Secretary-General of the United Nation’s International Telecommunications Union (ITU), Houlin Zhao, at Gudaibiya Palace here yesterday.
HRH Crown Prince highlighted that Bahrain continually prioritises innovative ICT policies that foster sustainable competition within the market. “It also ensures the sector is governed under the principles of fairness, transparency, and independence to protect consumers’ interests.”
Prince Salman stressed that Bahrain continued
to advance technical standards on par with the rapid changes the industry is undergoing.
