Busaiteen Club faces budgetary problems
Manama: Busaiteen Club, which is facing budgetary problems, is looking for companies that could sponsor its sports activities, said MP Dr Ali Bu Fersen.
Speaking to DT News, he said the sports activities of the club were badly affected because of financial issues and that being the representative of the area, it was his responsibility to raise this issue at all levels and get it solved.
The lawmaker suggested that big companies could come forward to sponsoring the volleyball and football matches of the club and the players could wear jerseys with their logos as a promotion. “It will be mutually beneficial for both the club and the sponsoring company,” he remarked.
Dr Fersen said they had been contacting many companies in this regard and recently they had a meeting with Yousuf Aal Hammady of Kuwait Finance House (KFH) Bahrain, who said he could not help them in this regard as it was a local issue of a club related to a particular area and the KFH could deal only at the national level.
He said the Busaiteen Club had been receiving rent from the Bahrain Airways, but when the club came under a financial crisis, the company vacated the building. “The Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs is looking for a new tenant and they may advertise it in the newspapers in the coming days,” he informed.
The MP said he was trying to highlight this issue on Sunday during a meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs, who had assured him to solve the issue urgently, and he was hopeful that a viable solution would appear in the near future.
