Bahraini researcher wins VIF award
Manama: A Higher Studies College lecturer at Arabian Gulf University (AGU) has won Venus International Foundation (VIF) Award themed “Outstanding Young Women Academicians.”
Dr Maha Mahmood Al Sabbagh was chosen as one of four Arab academicians among 900 international researchers.
She will receive VIF’s commemorative shield for her achievements in environmental studies next month in the Indian city of Chennai.
She had also been awarded the “Al Sharif Al Idrisi Award for Applied Geography” in 2006 by HRH the Prime Minister.
It is worth mentioning that University of Bahrain (UoB) professor Wahib Al Nasser had won a similar prize last year (2015).
