Bahrain observes World Civil Defence Day

Manama: Bahrain will today join the other nations in marking the World Civil Defence Day, which falls on March 1. Minister of Interior Lt General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al  Khalifa delivered this keynote address on the international event yesterday.

The world celebrates on March 1 the World Health Day that is marked this year under the theme “Civil Defence, Information Technology and Media” as appreciation of the role of the civil defence in the protection of the safety of lives.

“Bahrain has achieved remarkable milestones in civil defence, especially after the department was expanded to a general directorate and the expansion of civil defence centres to cover all parts of the country, with the capability to deal with various accidents,” said the Minister.
