Bapco’s training courses 1322 in ’15
The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) continued its dedicated efforts towards investing in one of its most valuable assets, the human element during 2015 with the aim of upgrading and qualifying the national caliber.
Bapco’s General Manager Human Resources and Administration, Khalid Al-Sabbagh explained that Bapco is building on its core competencies base to meet long-term needs.
He said that the theme of ongoing professional improvement continued at all levels throughout the organisation in 2015. “Bapco provided 1322 training courses inside and outside the Kingdom last year.”
“BAPCO paid significant attention to industrial training through TAKWEEN Programme in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. Besides, we organised training for university trainees, bringing a total of 290 students who conducted industrial training during 2015,” he informed.
The total number of scholarships sponsored by BAPCO was 543 scholars for children of employees till the end of 2015. “This is in line with BAPCO’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitments. Besides, BAPCO sponsored a total of 46 graduate scholarships, including 23 overseas scholarships and 23 local scholarships,” Al-Sabbagh revealed.
Speaking on the goals and objectives of training strategies in BAPCO, he remarked that the training strategy for 2016 will provide more focus on Management and Leadership programmes.
