Five persons implicated in a drug and arms possession case had their appeals rejected.
The convicts included two foreign women, two Saudi nationals and a Bahraini, who were arrested after police raided a house in Juffair.

According to the court verdict, one of the Saudi nationals was sentenced to 15 years in jail and was fined BD5000 after being convicted of drug peddling charge.

His Saudi co-accused, in his early twenties, received a more lenient sentence of three years in jail after judges held him guilty only of drug abuse, while the Bahraini accused was given 10 years in prison along with BD500 fine for drug trafficking.

Meanwhile, one of the two foreign women was sentenced to three years for possessing drugs, and the second woman received six months and a fine of BD100 after judges convicted her of prostitution.

During the raid on the Juffair property, police reportedly confiscated three pistols, 16 bags of shabu, several bags of cocaine and over 1000 Captagon pills.

Only the Bahraini accused was found guilty of possessing arms, for which judges handed him down extra six months behind bars and BD100 fine.

All the accused were arrested in the raid except the Saudi peddler, in his mid-forties, who was nabbed in a sting operation.

Judges earlier ordered to deport the two Saudi nationals and the two foreign women once they complete their prison terms.
