MoFA welcomes UNSC resolution on North Korea

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of the Kingdom of Bahrain yesterday welcomed the unanimous adoption of Security Council Resolution 2270 to expand and tighten international sanctions imposed on North Korea, in response to its recently conducted nuclear and ballistic experiments.

 “The Resolution confirms the seriousness of the international community
to confront any violations, and serves as a clear and firm message addressing any provocations that could undermine international peace and security,”
the Ministry said in a statement.

The Foreign Ministry stressed on the need of full cooperation among all countries for the precise and decisive implementation of UN Security Council (UNSC)resolution and take strict and stringent measures to prevent any threats that endanger the security of the world.

“The Ministry renews the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain to support all the efforts to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction around the world. We call for the full commitment to the Non-Proliferation Treaty as the cornerstone of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. It’s to ensure that the International Atomic Energy Agency continues monitoring and supervision of all nuclear programmes and activities,” it added.
