Drug case: Gym instructor in the dock
A gym instructor appeared in the dock on charges of drug peddling.
The defendant was arrested by anti-narcotic department at the Ministry of Interior following a tip-off that he possessed illicit drugs, which he planned to sell.
A sting operation was conducted and a police officer in plain clothes was assigned to contact him.
The accused was lured into selling BD100 of shabu to the officer, and was arrested while handing over the drugs to the latter. The defendant tried to elude trial, claiming that he was arrested while driving his car.
He, however, admitted to taking hashish after his drug test results proved positive.
When questioned about a digital scale that was seized from him, he said, “I usually buy drugs. I take the scale along, so that nobody can cheat me.”
