Panel for boosting ties among hospitals

President of the Supreme Health Council Lieutenant General Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa yesterday issued resolution 3 for 2016 on setting up the General Committee for Complementarity Between Hospitals.

The committee features in its membership representatives from the public, military and private hospitals in Bahrain. They are Brigadier Badriya Salman Salim and Dr. Ghada Mohammed Al Qassim from the BDF Hospital, Dr. Raja Sayed Hassan Yousef and Noora Mohammed Saleh Al Sebei from the Health Ministry, Professor Martin Corbally and Dr. Fairouz Al-Hourani from King Hamad University Hospital, Dr. Abdulwahab Mohammed Abdulwahab and Dr. Ibtissem Mohammed Al Dalal from the private sector and Abdullah Eid Al-Eid from Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Cardiac Centre.

The committee aims to boost cooperation between public, private and military hospitals mainly in terms of transferring patients and emergency cases, streamlining transfer procedures and determining medical requirements.

The committee held its first meeting, after its reformation, in the presence of the President of the Supreme Health Council and Health Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Aisha Mubarak Bu Onq.

The President of the Supreme Health Council welcomed the committee head and members, stressing the importance of the committee in working out a permanent coordination mechanism between hospitals in Bahrain to further optimise health services.
