Al Noor Athletic Meet: Sapphire House overall champions

Manama: Sapphire House won overall championship in Al Noor International School’s 23rd Annual Athletic Meet held yesterday  at the school campus. Sapphire House won the championship with 275 points while Ruby House, which won 156 points, got the second prize. Emerald House winning 141 points was placed third.   Chief Guest   Ahlam Ahmed Alamer, Director of Private Education, Ministry of Education,   declared the meet open. In her opening address, she congratulated the students for their participation in the event. Ahmed Alamer  and other guests, distributed the prizes to the winners. Also present were the School Chairman  Ali Hasan, Principal Rashid Mandi, Director Dr. Muhammad Mashood, officials from central governorate, invited guests, other school officials and staff.

 There were 3000 enthusiastic participants for events and displays from British, Bahraini and CBSE Sections. Almost 4000 parents came to watch the students participate in the Athletic Meet. The opening ceremony was colourful with the March Past lead by the School Head Boy Yusif Ali of AL3 and Head Girl Rawan Sayed of AL3 followed by School Band and athletes from four houses Diamond, Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire.

  In the March Past Ruby House won first prize with 212 points while Diamond House was placed second with 193 points. Sapphire House which won 175 points was placed third.

 Individual champions: Junior Boys-Turki Ali, Junior Girls-Sree Lakshmi,Intermediate Boys-Haitham Mohammed,Intermediate Girls-Liliya Sabkar,Senior Boys-Omar Mohammed,Senior Girls-Roza Harbi.

  Outstanding Players

 Athlete of the Year: Boys: Abdulla Fahim (Al3-British) –Sapphire House; Girls:    Rawan Sayed  (Al3-British) – Emerald House.

 Best Volleyball Players: Boys:   Promod Chathuranga (10C-British) – Sapphire House; Girls   :   Trisha De Leon (10D-British) – Emerald House.

 Best Basketball Players: Boys   :   Feras Mohammed (Al2-British) – Ruby House; Girls   :   Aysha Adel (Al1-British) – Ruby House.

 Best Football Players: Boys   :   Yusif Ali (Al3-British) – Sapphire; Girls   :   Hanan Alyusuf (Al3-British) – Diamond House
