Bahrain’s reforms continue to prioritise citizens’ living standards
Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met the Resident Representative of the United Nation’s Development Programme (UNDP) in Bahrain, Peter Grohmann, at Gudaibiya Palace. The meeting marks the end of the Resident Representative’s services in the Kingdom.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness emphasised that fostering opportunities to allow citizens to meet their aspirations is a key pillar of Bahrain’s sustainable development efforts, and that the Kingdom has continuously prioritised initiatives that directly support and improve citizens’ living standards.
His Royal Highness highlighted that for over three decades, Bahrain has consistently expanded its cooperation with the UNDP and other specialised institutions to advance development programmes across the country. His Royal Highness stressed that this longstanding work has supported the current comprehensive reforms that guarantee opportunities for all.
His Royal Highness then highlighted that strengthening collaboration with international institutions is central to the success of all development initiatives, and added that Bahrain will continue to improve collaboration with the UNDP in order to meet its development aims.
In conclusion, His Royal Highness praised the role of the Resident Representative, and wished him every success in his future endeavors. Deputy UNDP Resident Representative, Amin Al Sharkawi, also attended the meeting.
