UNDP representative ends services in Bahrain
Manama: Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa met the Resident Representative of the United Nation’s Development Programme (UNDP) in Bahrain, Peter Grohmann, here at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday. The meeting marks the end of the Resident Representative’s services in the Kingdom.
During the meeting, HRH Prince Salman said the Kingdom of Bahrain will continue to improve collaboration with the UNDP in order to meet its development aims, adding that strengthening collaboration with international institutions is central to the success of all development initiatives.
His Royal Highness highlighted that for over three decades, Bahrain has consistently expanded its cooperation with the UNDP and other specialised institutions to advance development programmes across the country.
The Crown Prince stressed that this long-standing work has supported the current comprehensive reforms that guarantee opportunities for all. Prince Salman added that the Kingdom has continuously prioritised initiatives that directly support and improve citizens’ living standards.
In conclusion, Prince Salman praised the role of the Resident Representative, and wished him every success in his future endeavours.
Deputy UNDP Resident Representative Amin Al Sharkawi also attended the meeting.
