Steven Hill wins 7th round of Audi quattro cup series

Steven Hill (37 stableford points) won the seventh round of the Audi quattro Cup qualifying series at the Royal Golf Club, followed in second by place by John Fitzmaurice (35) with Rick Hillson (34) a close third with 34 points.

Chris Meyer won the nearest pin side contest on hole 7 and the 2s club winners were Sanjay Lal and Rob Lane.

Around 60 competitors turned out for the tournament which was open to both members and visitors with valid handicap certificates.

After seven rounds played, Hill (201 points) now sits at the top of the series Order of Merit, January’s leader, Arnaud Robert (293) has now slipped back into second place with Rob Lane (193) in third place overall.

Competitors have just one more round to play before the finals are held at the Royal Golf Club on April 15 with all players having the opportunity to discard their lowest round score after round nine.

The top two order of merit winners will go on to represent Bahrain as one of the 60 teams competing in the prestigious World Finals.

More than 100,000 players compete in more than 800 tournaments in 54 countries annually and the Audi quattro Cup has developed into the biggest worldwide amateur golf tournament series. Registration is open for the next competition which takes place on March 25.
