Environment Month celebration launched in Bahrain
Manama : On behalf of Personal Representative of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, SCE Chief Executive Dr. Mohammed Mubarak bin Dainah inaugurated today the Environment Month festival under the theme "Let's Work for a Sustainable Environment" and a photo gallery on wild life. Ministers, senior officials, ambassadors to Bahrain and invitees attended the celebration which was held at the Sofitel Hotel in Zallaq.
Dr. bin Dainah cut the ribbon declaring the beginning of the function. He also toured the venue and got informed about the photo gallery which showcases pictures taken by photographers and amateurs who are interested in wild life. He stressed that protecting wild life in Bahrain is one of the goals of SCE to achieve sustainable development in the environment field through community partnership. He lauded the contribution of ministries, government bodies as well as public and private institutions in launching the function which consists of lectures, workshops and activities aimed at boosting environmental awareness.
The photos on display at the gallery will be showcased to the public at the Arts Hall at Bahraini Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) on March 15.
