HRH Crown Prince attends North Thunder finale

Manama:Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday arrived in Saudi Arabia to attend the closing ceremony of Operation North Thunder and witness the participation of the Bahrain Defence Force troops, alongside the troops of regional partners and allies in the final military exercise.

 Upon his arrival at King Khaled Military City, Prince Salman was received by Prince Saud bin Nayif bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, Governor of the Eastern Province, Shaikh Humood bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Brigadier Salman Khaled Al Moawda, Commander of the 13th Royal Infantry Battalion, and Brigadier Salman Ebrahim Al Fudhala, Commander of the Advanced Central Command of the GCC Peninsula Shield Forces. Later, Prince Salman attended a dinner banquet hosted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, at the Royal Hospitality Palace in the King Khalid Military City.

 During the banquet, King Salman, HRH Crown Prince and the senior officials from the participating countries stressed the importance of The North Thunder exercise, and discussed the main features of the military exercise, the largest in the region’s history.

King Salman also highlighted the preparations that have taken place ahead of the final manoeuvre of the North Thunder exercise.
