Manama : The 2016 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix is fast approaching and tickets are selling fast.

Race fans are encouraged to buy theirs early so as not to miss out on the highly anticipated three-day race weekend, set to be hosted at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir from April 1 to 3.

Interest in the Grand Prix has been up both locally and internationally, and ticket sales have also increased compared to the same time last year.

A Main Grandstand ticket costs BD150 apiece, while a Batelco Grandstand ticket is BD120. A ticket to the Turn One Grandstand is BD100, and tickets to the University and Victory Grandstands are BD60 apiece.

Children aged three to 12 years old can get tickets for half the price, while entry is free of charge for those below three years old. School students aged 13 to 17 years old can get a 25 per cent discount, university students get 10 per cent off, while senior citizens aged 60 and above along with people with special needs can get a 25 per cent discount.

All tickets are for three-day access to the Grand Prix weekend, which, aside from F1, includes racing from other major international and regional championships.

In addition, BIC will be presenting its usual selection of family entertainment, including world famous recording artists, as well as extensive fun throughout the weekend.

Ticket holders will also be able to enjoy a pit walk on Thursday, March 31, as well as access to the opening live performance of Moroccan superstar Saad Lamjarred.
