Bahrain MP to sue Kuwait MP for incitement

Manama : A Bahraini lawmaker has recently announced that he will travel to Kuwait to sue a Kuwaiti MP for incitement against Bahrain.

Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Parliamentary Committee Deputy Chairman MP Jamal Buhassan pledged to travel to Kuwait to file several cases against Kuwaiti parliamentarian Abdulhamid Dashti, who is believed to have his immunity revoked by the Kuwaiti National Assembly (Parliament) recently. But, the lift of Dashti’s immunity has not been officially announced.

While speaking to DT News yesterday, Buhassan confirmed that he will hire several attorneys to file cases against Dashti for many reasons, which included supporting terrorism in Bahrain, inciting against the Bahraini regime and destabilising the Kingdom’s security.

Buhassan added that he is determined and will make the trip to Kuwait within the next seven days.

Meanwhile, online reports said Dashti was admitted to a hospital in Switzerland recently, and he could be transferred to another healthcare institution in London.

The reports said that Dashti is more secured in London, at the same time when Bahrain’s Public Prosecution issued an arrest warrant for him that has been circulated through the Interpol for his involvement in illegal fundraising in the Kingdom.

“Interpol in Switzerland would swiftly handover wanted fugitives in other countries, unlike the British who have their own prolonged procedures. That’s why he escaped to London,” the reports claimed.

Additionally, the comments of the controversial Kuwaiti MP against Bahrain and fellow GCC countries were recently condemned by the Saudi and Kuwaiti Foreign Affairs Ministries.

Anyhow, this is not the first confrontation between the two MPs, as Buhassan had also complained against Dashti during last September, after the latter attacked him and damaged his mobile phone in a gathering in Geneva, Switzerland.
