Bahrain best country in the world for expatriates

Manama : Bahrain has ranked first as the best country in the world in which expatriates prefer to live, Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank, a survey conducted by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) revealed.

66% of expatriates covered in the survey affirmed that they were very happy to live in Bahrain for many reasons, asserting that the kingdom is an open country and that its people is modest and it is easy to deal with Bahrainis and make friendships with them.

In fact, Bahrain is the world’s most attractive country for other nationalities, for the reasons outlined in the survey, and also for all business-friendly environment, welcoming society and co-existence of its citizens and residents within a secure and tolerant atmosphere.

The Bahraini society’s openness to other cultures and values have made people with various opinions and cultures leave their home countries and live in it, which explains the fact that many expatriates and their families prefer to live in the kingdom for its openness and its society’s tolerance and readiness to co-exist with people belonging to different religions, cultures, races and ideologies.
Indeed, openness has been a distinctive feature of the Bahraini society throughout history, and has been consolidated thanks to leadership’s directives to promote the kingdom into regional financial, business, trade and tourism hub.

Facts on the ground explain why the kingdom has topped the world for expatriates’ life, including the security and stability prevailing in it, the size of visitors, whose number exceeds 10 million annually, the size of expatriate workers and their families, whose number is estimated at half a million, who live in Bahrain and feel no discrimination against them in housing, work and services.

It is to be noted that the 2015 HSBC Expat Explorer Survey named the Kingdom ‘An expat oasis in the Gulf. ’

In the survey published in September 2015, based on a sample of 21,950 expatriates, Bahrain ranked the first GCC and Arab country in the two main indicators, namely lifestyle and family.

According to the survey, ‘Bahrain is an easy and stable choice for expats, offering a smooth transition and a warm welcome.’
