Gulf Radio and TV Festival to open on Monday
Manama : The 14th edition of the Gulf Radio and TV Festival will open in Bahrain on Monday (March14). Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al-Rumaihi will patronize the four-day-event under the theme "One Media Vision". Over 300 varied works will be showased in different competitions which were lined up for the festival.
The minister will also open a Radio and TV Production Bazaar, in the presence of festival secretary-general Dr. Abdulla bin Said Abu Ras, also Director General of the Gulf Radio and TV Corporation (GRTC), in addition to heads of delegations. The opening ceremony of the festival will be held at the Shaikh Abdulaziz Al-Khalifa Hall at Bahrain University Sakhir Campus.
Two symposiums focusing on sport information and the GCC joint media will be held on March 15 and 17 at the Gulf Hotel Awal Ballroom. UAE Albayan newspaper deputy editor-in-chief Mohammed Al-Jokar will address the first forum under the theme "Sport programmes between responsibility and risks".
Rotana Khalijia presenter of Koora programme Turki Al-Ajama and Kuwaiti Al-Seyassa sport department deputy chief Sattam Al-Sahli will also take part.
The second session will be held under the slogan "Role of Sport Media in Supporting GCC Sport Causes – Qatar 2022 case study" and will feature speakers Qatari Hussain Jassim, GCC Sport Media Union Chairman Salim Al-Habsi, Saudi sport critic Ahmed Al-Faheed and Qatari critic Majid Al-Khalifi.
The Joint GCC Media forum will host Saudi Shura Council member Dr. Ahmed Al-Zaya’ali, Bahraini University Media Department teacher Dr. Awadh Hashim, and other Gulf figures.
The closing ceremony will be held on Thursday (March 17) at 7.00 PM at at the Shaikh Abdulaziz Al-Khalifa Hall at Bahrain University Sakhir Campus.
The festival will host as guests artists Ahmed Al-Jassmi (UAE), Saudi Bashir Ghunaim, Saad Kedr, Ali Al-Medfaa and Naji Tantawi, Omani Amina Abdul rasool and Salim Al-Makhini, Qatari Abulaziz Al-Jassim, Ghazi Hussain and Salah Al-Mulla. Kuwaiti Tarak Al-Ali, Dawood Hussain, mona Shaddad, and Zahra Al-Kharji.
Egyptian Hani ramzi and Norhan Ibrahim, Jordanian Margo Haddad and Salah Hoorani, Jehad Al-Andari and Aleco Dawood from Lebanon, in addition to Sudanese Abdulrahman Al-Shebli, Tunisian Zahira bin Ammar and Moroccan Hesham Bahlool will also be present.
