Two women jailed for selling shabu in Bahrain

Manama: Two Chinese women, who sold shabu to an undercover agent, have been jailed for five years each.

They were also fined BD3,000.

The duo were lured into selling the illicit drugs to the officer after he contacted them following a tip-off to the Anti-Narcotic Department in the Ministry of Interior.

The officer is said to have offered them BD1,000 to complete the deal, and they agreed to meet him in Juffair.

Police officers swooped down on them as soon as they handed over the drugs to the officer.

The police also raided their apartment after arresting them, and found a third woman.

She was in an abnormal state, and she later failed a drug test.

She was handed down six-month-jail sentence.
