Dutch expertise at Bahrain's SMC
In response to the directives of Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to take advantage of scientific personnel
for treatment and training in the Bahrain, Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) received Professor Tom de Jong, a specialist in urology for children from the Netherlands from March
5 to 10.
He inspected 23 children suffering from birth defects, abnormalities of the urinary tract and genital organs, and conducted 14 surgeries.
Assistant Undersecretary for Training and Planning Dr Mohammed Amin Al Awadhi said the visit gave a chance for Bahrainis Surgeons to meet global experts. The parents of the patients expressed their happiness over the successful diagnosis and treatment, confirming their confidence in the medical staff.
