FACED second phase on way

Manama: The second phase of Farouk AlMoayyed SMEs Development Centre (FACED) which aims to provide support to doctors and health specialists, will be launched soon, it was announced yesterday.

Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2016, the new Clinics and Medical Services Centre, according to Bahrain Small and Medium Enterprises Development Society, includes specialised clinics equipped with the latest medical equipment and serves more than 54 doctors.

FACED, managed by the society, aims to incubate entrepreneurs and support start-up businesses to find their way towards success.

“We are very proud to see the second phase of the center, which aims to provide support to doctors and health specialists, is about to be launched soon,” said Honorary Chairman Farouk AlMoayyed.

This was revealed during a meeting of Bahrain Small and Medium Enterprises Development Society held in the presence of AlMoayyed, Society Chairman Ahmad AlSaloom, vice-chairman Khalaf  Hujair, along with Board members: Nofal Al Kooheji and Dr Fadheela Hussain, in addition to secretary Ammar Awachi and financial controller Ahmed Khalfan.

Currently, there are about 60 enterprises on the waiting list of FACED, which has recently upgraded its capacity from 20 to 45 business incubators.

Khalaf Hujair, Society vice-chairman, reviewed a set of proposals that are intended to be given to MOIC and BCCI, which aims to reduce the financial burdens that face the enterprises.

The meeting also reviewed other achievements of the society such as the Third Alwane Regional Summit, which was organised by Alwane-Bahrain committee in the Society, under the patronage of Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.
