Royal Medical Services organises awareness campaign
The BDF Royal Medical Services Command has organised a public awareness campaign themed "Together we can eliminate obesity" in collaboration with the Military Hospital's Public Relations Section.
The two-day event was under the auspices of Professor Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, and shed light on obesity, overweight problems and key risk factors that give rise to incidence of cancer, cardiovascular, hypertension, diabetes and thrombosis ailments.
The obesity clinic at the Royal Medical Services provides free healthcare to eligible patients besides personal advice on weight reduction.
In the same context, the event enlightened various age groups from 15 to 50 on health issues, and provided free medical checkups comprising monitoring of body mass index (BMI), blood pressure and glucose. Also, expert advice was given on healthy lifestyles, nutrition and physical fitness.
Taking place at Bahrain City Centre Mall on March 12-13, the event included the distribution of nominal gifts to the mall clients and visitors.
