Scamp Theatre comes to Bahrain

Manama: Award-winning Scamp Theatre brings its show Tiddler and Other Terrific Tales to Bahrain. The show, based on the bestselling children’s book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, will be performed at the Alumni Club on March 18 and 19 as part of the Spring of Culture 2016 Festival.

These terrific tales are woven together with a number of colourful characters, puppets, and music. The show will take the children and their families on an epic journey through different backdrops from the ocean to the jungle.

The show has gained worldwide recognition, and was praised in numerous reviews, in UK media such as The Guardian. Scamp’s theatrical performance has gained the interest of many observers including Michael Morpurgo from the Independent who wrote, “I think the quality of what Scamp do is amazing”.

Scamp Theatre was founded in 2003 at the hands of award-winning international producers, Jennifer Sutherland and Louise Callow. The group has built a reputation, mastering art performances for various age groups in the theatre district, with an increased focus on adaptation, particularly in children’s literature.

The group took part in major theatre festivals in London, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, the US, and other countries around the world. It has received multiple awards including the “Total Theatre Award” in 2011.
