French acrobatic troupes to perform at Bahrain Grand Prix

Manama: Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East,” has lined up a couple of breathtaking extreme performances for race-goers at this year’s Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

The three-day spectacle of racing and entertainment will be held from April 1 to 3 in Sakhir. It will be the second of a record 21 rounds on the 2016 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

The extreme shows that will be entertaining the public feature professional acrobats Les P’Tits Bras and renowned trapeze group CirkVOST.

Les P’Tits Bras, which performs on a truss set-up, specialises in nail-biting, nerve-wracking stunts that keep the audience on the edge of their seat. Swinging trapezes and leaping from one end to another besides high-level acrobatic aerial acts are only some of the things this French troupe can do.

On the other hand, CirkVOST excel in aerial skills. Performing on a circular structure, their imaginative, daring and humorously devised pieces are strongly influenced by cirque culture and art.

Based in the south of France, near Nîmes, CirkVOST is an artistically led circus collective of 20 professionals of both circus and stage performances. They have staged their acts in Japan, the Middle East, London, France, Spain, Germany and every major city in Europe in front of more than 200,000 spectators.

Tickets to the Bahrain Grand Prix are still available. They cost BD150 apiece for the Main Grandstand and BD120 for the Batelco Grandstand. Turn One Grandstand costs BD100 each, while both the University Grandstand and Victory Grandstand tickets cost BD60 apiece.

Children aged three to 12 years can get tickets for half the price, while entry is free of charge for those below three.

All tickets are meant for three-day access to the Grand Prix weekend. Tickets can be bought at the BIC stands in Bahrain City Centre and Seef Mall (Seef District), BIC’s official website www.bahraingp.com, or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17-450000.
